Needless to say, it has been a wild season for John Gaub. Gaub, who began the season with the Chicago Cubs, was claimed off waivers by the Tampa Bay Rays on April 5. Gaub stayed with the Rays organization until May 24, when he was claimed off waivers by the Texas Rangers. However, it was a short stay in Texas for Gaub, who was claimed off waivers by the St. Louis Cardinals today according to Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star Telegram:
@JeffWilson_FWST: John Gaub, put on waivers Thursday to create a 40-man spot for Tanner Sheppers, has been claimed by St. Louis. We hardly knew ye.

Gaub, who was a 21st round pick out of Minnesota in 2006, had a strong season for the Chicago Cubs Triple-A team last season, recording a 3.42 ERA in 50 appearances. He has made 21 total appearances this season between the Rays and Rangers.
