2012 All-Star Game Final Vote: David Freese To Be Fed To Bryce Harper In NL Fan Vote

For what it's worth, as you ponder your 2012 All-Star Game final vote ballot--click here--David Freese is having a slightly better season than you think. It's about the season he had last year, before injuries and then a transcendent postseason intervened, with less BAbip and more of the power he used to display in the minor leagues. He's an above-average third baseman who could post superficially all-star numbers, thanks to the power and the offense he's in. Even then: He's obviously going to lose this to Bryce Harper, right?

The fans want Harper. I want Harper. He hasn't played the whole season, and he's having a slightly worse season than you think, but he's 19 and he swings like an axe-murderer and he's got every tool a player can have. He and Mike Trout are going to dominate the conversation for the rest of the year, especially the conversation about who will dominate the conversation for the rest of the decade.

As for Michael Bourn, Aaron Hill, and the great Chipper Jones, who deserved a Ripken/Smith victory lap--you're having fine seasons. But, Bryce Harper.
