Rockies Vs. Cardinals Final Score: St. Louis Opens 4-Game Series With 9-3 Victory

The St. Louis Cardinals scored early and often during a 9-3 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Monday at Busch Stadium. Kyle Lohse moved to 8-2 on the season by surrendering nine hits and two earned runs over 7.1 innings while striking out five.

Carlos Beltran drove in RBIs No. 62 and 63, starting with a first inning sacrifice fly to score Jon Jay. That would be followed by Matt Holliday's third inning solo homer, his 13th of the year. First baseman Allen Craig hit two homers, and drove in three runs on the night.

St. Louis improves to 43-38 with the win, while Colorado drops to 30-49 with the loss.
