After dropping back-to-back games against the Chicago Cubs, the St. Louis Cardinals begin a three-game series with the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field on Tuesday. It appears as if one of St. Louis' best players is set to re-enter the lineup after missing the last two games due to injury. Shortstop Rafael Furcal hasn't played since July 27 thanks to a minor back issue, but the 34-year old seems ready to return. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch says Furcal will likely be in the lineup on Tuesday.

Mozeliak also said that shortstop Rafael Furcal received treatment today in Denver. Furcal missed both of the losses at Wrigley Field over the weekend because of back spasms. Furcal has also played through pain in his shins throughout the past several months. Furcal responded well to the treatment and rest, Mozeliak said, and is "likely" to be back in the lineup Tuesday when the Cardinals open a three-game series against Colorado at Coors Field.

Furcal is hitting .272/.341/.352 this season in 389 at-bats.
