Rockies Vs. Cardinals Final Score: St. Louis Wins 6-2

The St. Louis Cardinals rode strong pitching to a 6-2 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Thursday night. The Cardinals are now five games over .500 on the season after taking three out of four from the Rockies at Busch Stadium this week.

Lance Lynn was superb for St. Louis in his final start before this year's All Star Game, in which he'll be making his first career appearance. Lynn pitched six shutout innings on Thursday, striking out seven hitters while allowing just four hits and two walks.

The Cardinals only had seven hits on the day, but they made them count in piling six runs on the Rockies. Carlos Beltran and Matt Holliday each had two RBI apiece, plus Matt Carpenter got on base successfully in each of his three plate appearances. Jon Jay also played well, going 1-for-2 with a single, a walk, a run scored and an RBI.
