NFL Update: St. Louis Rams Scorched 44-6 By Detroit Lions

Well, so much for first place—the St. Louis Rams, fresh off a two-game winning streak, found themselves crushed by the heretofore-winless Detroit Lions from wire to wire Sunday afternoon, finally losing 44-6. Top wide receiver Mark Clayton was carted off the field in the first quarter, and it only got worse from there.

Running back Steven Jackson was the only effective piece on offense, rushing 25 times for a season high 114 yards. Danny Amendola caught 12 passes for 95 yards after Sam Bradford, who struggled with two interceptions and barely crested a 50% completion rating, lost Clayton, his favorite target.

The Rams fall to 2-3 on the season.
