Seattle Seahawks Acquire Marshawn Lynch, Still Unable To Deal With Rams Loss

The Seattle Seahawks, apparently less sanguine about their running back situation than the St. Louis Rams, who are just about to promote Kenneth Darby to second-string quarterback as well, have acquired Marshawn Lynch from the Buffalo Bills for two draft picks. Through this week the Seahawks had managed 318 rushing yards, good for 27th in the league; both of their rushing touchdowns belong to Matt Hasselbeck.

Pete Carroll says he's "a guy who can carry the load for you", but by "you" he apparently didn't mean the Buffalo Bills, who last reached the playoffs when Marshawn Lynch was 13 years old. Lynch is a serviceable running back, and an upgrade over Julius Jones, but he's also got a Legal Issues section on his Wikipedia page longer than 2008-2010 combined. He's a guy who can carry a Legal Issues section for you.

Certainly it's good to see a team worried enough about the Rams to shake up its offense like this, for a change.
