Danny Amendola's Huge Punt Return Leads To 6-0 Rams Lead Vs. Chiefs

A 42-yard punt return from Danny Amendola was all the St. Louis Rams needed to pick up their second field goal of the afternoon in the first quarter of their Week 15 matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs. Kicker Josh Brown made good on a gutsy 52-yard attempt to put the Rams ahead by a score of 6-0 with five minutes remaining in the first.

Amendola’s punt return got the Rams to the Chiefs’ 38, but the offense was stuffed on three plays, gaining just two yards on a Steven Jackson rush after Sam Bradford completed a pass for no gain to Laurent Robinson and threw one incomplete to Amendola.

But the Rams have shown themselves ready and willing to give Josh Brown long field goal attempts of late, and he’s converted. The field goal was Brown’s third 50-yarder this season in four attempts, and his ninth 40-yarder in 12. The 6-0 lead comes as the Chiefs struggle to put together a sustained run with their offense.
