In my fantasy football league a lot of my friends have been converted, over the course of the few years we've been playing, into the pick-your-defense-based-on-who-it's-playing philosophy, but I'm here to suggest a slightly different tip for your fantasy edification: Play whoever's playing against the Arizona Cardinals. In Week 13 Sam Bradford has the chance to follow up his career game with a second-straight stellar performance against one of the worst defenses in football. Bradford is improving in dog-months—September his passer rating was 68.1; October 81.1; November, 96.8. Since October 1 he's thrown 13 touchdowns against four interceptions, and in November he finally showed off the occasional downfield pass.
↵Meanwhile, truly daring St. Louis Rams followers have another chance to pick Danario Alexander up off the waiver wire. If football were played on fields made of marshmallow, or while wearing moon boots, Alexander would be a clear number-one on this team; as things stand now—it's always the damned Edward Jones Dome's fault—they play on a regulation NFL field, and the Rams will be watching his reps carefully. He proved last week that he can be the most dynamic receiver in the Rams' offense even with those restrictions.
↵Unfortunately for the Rams, they're catching the Cardinals the week after rock bottom; they'll be looking to appease a press corps that apparently brooks no laughter, and Derek Anderson will be looking to keep his job.
