I've decided this is a running theme on the Sports of St. Louis blog—there are things that can be analyzed, and things that have to be reported—for some reason. The St. Louis Rams, worried about Steven Jackson's groin, would apparently listen if Larry Johnson called (though it's not as serious as first reported.)
↵Once upon a time Larry Johnson rushed for 3500 yards over two season. This was 2006—the Kansas City Chiefs, in so doing that, ran him into the ground. Since then he's been effective once, in 2008, and was a non-entity in 2009 and 2010. He's 31, which is about 100 in running-back-who-once-had-400-carries-years.
↵The Rams need help at running back if Steven Jackson's going to be gone for any length of time at all. But getting a name isn't particularly helpful when the player attached to it is no longer the player he once was.
