Erstwhile St. Louis Rams backup Keith Null, who lost his job to Thaddeus Lewis (who then lost his job to—well, nothing at all, ending up on the practice squad) in training camp, has signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
↵Null, whose name was perhaps a little too allegorical for the Rams for him to stick around into the Sam Bradford era, was thrown into a thankless, no-win position last year; in a season where he should've been holding a clipboard he was, astonishingly, the most competent quarterback on a terrible team. This a year after he was the most competent quarterback at West Texas A&M.
↵He was bad in St. Louis, but at least it was the expected, reasonable kind of bad. In Jacksonville, whose quarterback meltdown is at least happening more slowly than it did in St. Louis, he might get a chance on the practice squad to develop for more than 12 games.
