At Turf Show Times VanRam offers a look at the encouraging improvements the St. Louis Rams have made in the Football Outsiders' advanced metrics. The defensive improvement is the most immediately apparent—they've jumped from 31st to 14th in DVOA (Defense-adjusted Value Over Average). Meanwhile the offense has improved from 32nd to 23rd, with the major improvements in the passing game (thanks, Sam Bradford!) offset by slippage with the run (thanks, Keith Toston and Steven Jackson's groin!)
↵Whether you appreciate statistical analysis or not, the advanced stats tell the same story you can see with your own eyes—the Rams finally appear to have picked themselves up off the floor.
