The new SB Nation 2011 NFL mock draft is out, and for the second straight week Brian Galliford of the mothership likes the St. Louis Rams, who've been linked with every wide receiver in draft history, to pick Notre Dame WR Michael Floyd. I'm still fine with the pick—of course, it depends on whether or not Floyd declares for the draft, which he plans to do (or not do) sometime today.
↵Floyd's occasional dalliances with the injury bug are a little worrisome on a team that lost its top two wide receivers to injury, learned along with Michael Hoomanawanui all about high-anklem sprains, and has to deal with Danario Alexander's absurdly fragile left knee on a week-to-week basis, but with a pick in the middle of the first round I think it's important to pick for talent and readiness—it's a little presumptive to worry about a player's durability when you're not even sure how good he'll be yet.
↵For their part, Rakes of Mallow thinks Floyd's "decision is already made, and doesn't involve playing in South Bend this fall." Which is one step closer to playing in St. Louis this fall, if the Rams can stop complaining about the Edward Jones Dome long enough to play in St. Louis this fall.
