NFL Playoff Picks: Seattle Seahawks Can't Win Again, Probably

So I was wrong in guessing that the Seattle Seahawks were the safest NFL Playoff pick of all to lose to the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints. But I'm going double-or-nothing here: The Chicago Bears will probably beat the Seahawks this Sunday at noon. My tentative pick is... 24-14 Bears. When has Mike Martz ever let me down before?*

Before that we have the Saturday games, including the Baltimore Ravens 13 at Pittsburgh Steelers 18 and the Green Bay Packers 24 at the Atlanta Falcons 31. Then, after the Seahawks lose, I think, we'll get the New York Jets 14 at the New England Patriots 28.

I make these pics, but I'm not sure if my heart is in them—in a post-Seahawks world what is there to believe in? It's leading me to the NFL equivalent of hard postmodernism: I'm completely spent. If they win again I promise to read a little Foucault and start replacing all instances of the word "I" with the words "the subject position." But I won't read a lot of Foucault, because I'm not a masochist.

*Please come back, Mike Martz. I miss exciting offenses so.
