2011 NFL Mock Draft: One Vote For Julio Jones

As the presumptive wide receivers of the 2011 NFL Draft vanish, one by one, back into a another year of college football, the odds of the St. Louis Rams ending up with the wide receiver they want in the first round have diminished accordingly. But Andrew Perloff's mock draft has the Rams taking a wide receiver some think might already be gone by the time number 14 rolls around: Alabama wide receiver Julio Jones.

Even before the receivers began to vanish SB Nation's mock draft had Jones going number-six to the Cleveland Browns. But Perloff, who has Blaine Gabbert going number-one overall to the Carolina Panthers, has A.J. Green slipping to the Browns, which leaves room for the Rams.

Jones would be a nice pick for the Rams at 14, but he'll have to get there first. Right now it seems like that will require Green getting to six. The best thing that could happen for the Rams is for the draft's various project quarterbacks—Gabbert, Cam Newton, Ryan Mallet, and company—to have great pre-draft buzz.
