The first thing that can't happen in any 2011 NFL Draft projections that have Julio Jones going to the St. Louis Rams at 14: A.J. Green can't go No. 1 overall to the Carolina Panthers. You can blame Andrew Luck for this disclaimer — nobody except all those receivers who decided to stay in school for once did more to harm the Rams' chances of getting a Sam Bradford Buddy with their first round pick than Luck. After that: The Cincinnati Bengals at four and the Cleveland Browns at six.
↵The Bengals' cable-star wide receivers, Chad Ochocinco and Terrell Owens, are on their way out just as Carson Palmer has made clear he's worth building around one last time. They're likely to backstop Green—I can't see him getting any farther than that. The Browns have a young quarterback with no weapons, which should sound familiar to you.
↵Julio Jones could get past one of those teams, but two of them seems like a stretch with the receiver depth down in this draft. Of course, with the scheme changing rather dramatically this week it might all come down to Josh McDaniels' conception of the Rams' offense. Maybe, having Pygmalion'd a neck-bearded Kyle Orton last season, he's convinced he can turn Sam Bradford into Sam Bradford no matter who he's got at wide receiver. (If this is the case, someone please show him the Rams' depth chart at wide receiver.)
