Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: Brandon Lloyd And Hopping Off The Brandon Gibson Bandwagon

Fantasy football waiver wire watchers (noted alliteration lovers, apparently) will know by now that I am a big fan of Brandon Gibson, at least inasmuch as one can be a fan of the St. Louis Rams' infamous wide receivers. He's totally decent! He catches the ball when he's thrown it and sometimes does neat things afterward! And now that the Rams have acquired Brandon Lloyd he's—benched!

I don't get it, either, but the guy who's led the Rams receivers in DVOA for most of the season didn't play in Dallas Week 7—he wasn't even activated. In his place were Danario Alexander, who's admittedly more exciting, and Greg Salas, who was admittedly coming off a great game after a year of frustration and ineptitude. Brandon Lloyd had a great game, which bodes well for when Sam Bradford returns, and Salas and Alexander looked about like you'd expect with Sam Bradford out.

It's a sad day, but I'm going to have to find a new sleeper receiver on which to hitch my rapidly collapsing fantasy football team. And since Brandon Lloyd will be getting a million targets per game from this moment forward—entirely justifiably—he won't play for the Rams.
