Despite falling to a 34-7 loss at Dallas, CBS Sports' latest NFL power rankings saw the St. Louis Rams maintain their spot at No. 30. While there has been some heat on Steve Spagnuolo from Rams fans, Pete Prisco points out that Spagnuolo should be given a pass because of the bad injury luck that has hit this team:
This has been a surprisingly tough year, but there is no way Steve Spagnuolo should be in trouble. Injuries have killed this team.
As Prisco points out, few teams have been hit as hard by injuries as the Rams. Even before losing Sam Bradford to a high ankle sprain, the Rams have already had to deal with season-ending injuries to Ron Bartell, Danny Amendola and Bradley Fletcher. For a system that relies on physical cornerback play, losing both Bartell and Fletcher to injury has proven to be a recipe for disaster.
The depleted Rams secondary will face another stern test when they host the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.
