Tennessee Titans Sign Donnie Avery To Replace Kenny Britt

The circle of knee-injury life turns once more: With Mark Clayton coming back to the St. Louis Rams soon from his own devastating knee injury, the man he replaced after an earlier devastating knee injury, Donnie Avery, has gone to the Tennessee Titans to replace Kenny Britt after a brand new devastating knee injury. No word on who will be replacing Donnie Avery after this circle turns again, although Danario Alexander is the smart money.

Avery looked solid in the Rams' preseason action and was clocked running some truly impressive 40 times at the end of a year of rehab, so it was something of a surprise when he was cut in favor of Alexander prior to Week 1 of the regular season. For the Titans he provides some upside and a player who's relatively close to being game-ready, compared to the average guy off the street.

For the Rams he provides a reminder that they cut him in favor of two underperforming rookies and Danny Amendola, who looks to miss the rest of the season after dislocating his elbow Week 1.
