Arizona Cardinals' rookie CB/PR Patrick Peterson delivered another crippling blow to the St. Louis Rams with a punt return for a touchdown, punctuating the Cardinals' 23-20 victory in week 12. Things haven't gone well in St. Louis this season, and it might be time for heads to roll. Aaron Hooks of SB Nation St. Louis brings down the proverbial hammer on head coach Steve Spagnuolo and GM Billy Devaney this week:
No answers are forthcoming and the front office and head coach are leading the charge into lethargy. Spags will be at his Monday presser acting like he's acted for the past 2.5+ seasons, bloviating about staying the course and catching some breaks. Devaney will be on a sportstalk radio station reminding people how hard it is to overcome so many injuries. We'll forget about this team until Sunday when they show up and get spanked by San Francisco.
Wash. Rise. Repeat.
...If [the St. Louis Rams] have any hope of staying, they need to release Spagnuolo and Devaney. They need to replace them with people that think differently and work to entertain us.
How do the experts feel? SB Nation's Joel Thorman has released his Week 13 NFL Power Rankings, and the Rams have dropped one spot to No. 31. Thorman stares at the open wound of Rams fans with both sympathy and confusion:
Letting Patrick Peterson beat you on punt returns twice...ugh. What's up with St. Louis?
