Sam Bradford Injury Update: Yes, He's Still Injured

Sam Bradford wants to play for the St. Louis Rams Sunday, and to be honest that gets him closer to playing for the St. Louis Rams on Sunday than it does for most NFL teams most years. But even he can't fight the dreaded high ankle sprain to a draw—injury reports have him at Doubtful, and the longstanding rumors that the Rams have shut him down for the season in favor of throwing Kellen Clemens to the wolves make a lot of common sense.

It's good that Bradford wants to play—that's the thing you want to see, if you're one of those old-timey football types who puts a lot of stock in just how much a guy looks like he wants to go out there and get the crap beaten out of him—but that's probably about as far as it needs to go. He's hurt, he's playing for what appears to be a lame-duck staff running a lame-duck offense, and he's had a bad year already. See whether Clemens can slot in as a backup next year and punt.

I mean, literally punt all the time, because that seems to be the Rams' offensive gameplan anyway.
