Ben Roethlisberger Injury: Charlie Batch To Start In Place Of Steelers QB

According to Steelers Digest -- and confirmed (via retweet) by the official Pittsburgh Steelers twitter account -- the Steel-town offense will be without the face of their franchise on Saturday's game against the St. Louis Rams. Ben Roethlisberger will miss Week 16 with an ankle injury, handing the starting duties to 12-year veteran Charlie Batch.

The 37-year-old Batch has started only two games in the last three seasons, starting a total of 52 contests in his time with the Detroit Lions and Steelers. Since 2003, Batch has started a total of six NFL games, but has played 30 different games since then, passing for 1386 yards with an 84.2 QB rating.

The Rams and Steelers kick off their Christmas Eve game at noon CST on Saturday.
