2011 NFL Mock Draft: Julio Jones Still On St. Louis Rams' List

Ever since Michael Floyd and Justin Blackmon decided to stay in school the 2011 NFL Mock Draft mavens of the world have been uncertain about the St. Louis Rams' prospects with wide receivers at the 14th pick of the first round. But stay calm, Sam Bradford—some of them remain convinced Julio Jones will fall to the Rams.

Jones isn't "the next Calvin Johnson/Larry Fitzgerald", as WalterFootball.com declares possible number-one pick A.J. Green, but he's better than Mardy Gilyard and healthier than Danario Alexander, which is admittedly not a narrow place to be triangulated. That would make him the top prospect in the Rams' corps even if he wasn't a possible top-ten pick.

Things remain unsettled in the Rams' neck of the draft, but Jones is probably the best-case scenario if you like forward passes—something I remain a fan of, unlike one Pat Shurmur. An athletic blank-slate of a rookie looks like a perfect fit for a team that's just begun installing Josh McDaniels's offense.
