Randy Moss To St. Louis Rams Rumors Float Out Of Boston

Randy Moss's stint with the New England Patriots was two whole teams ago, but at the Boston Herald they're still covering their mercurial ex-receiver. Most recently: Floating a rumor that the St. Louis Rams, who hired one-team-ago offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, could be interested in Moss, based on a comment Steve Spagnuolo made about familiarity with the McDaniels system.

I can't imagine Spagnuolo could have made this statement—"anybody that's been in his system becomes a little bit attractive"—without knowing full well the inferences that would be drawn from it. Moss isn't a four-pillars guy at all, but he and Vincent Jackson were both briefly connected with the Rams in the middle of the 2010 season, so it seems like Spagnuolo retains a pragmatic streak, if only one that flares up when the Rams' top receiver is Danny Amendola

A Moss move is unlikely until the NFL Draft throws some clarity on the Rams' receiver situation—and a labor resolution throws some clarity on the 2011 NFL season—but there are certainly elements in place that would point to it being a possibility.
