Randy Moss's stint with the New England Patriots was two whole teams ago, but at the Boston Herald they're still covering their mercurial ex-receiver. Most recently: Floating a rumor that the St. Louis Rams, who hired one-team-ago offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, could be interested in Moss, based on a comment Steve Spagnuolo made about familiarity with the McDaniels system.
↵I can't imagine Spagnuolo could have made this statement—"anybody that's been in his system becomes a little bit attractive"—without knowing full well the inferences that would be drawn from it. Moss isn't a four-pillars guy at all, but he and Vincent Jackson were both briefly connected with the Rams in the middle of the 2010 season, so it seems like Spagnuolo retains a pragmatic streak, if only one that flares up when the Rams' top receiver is Danny Amendola.
↵A Moss move is unlikely until the NFL Draft throws some clarity on the Rams' receiver situation—and a labor resolution throws some clarity on the 2011 NFL season—but there are certainly elements in place that would point to it being a possibility.
