Mel Kiper's latest 2011 NFL Mock Draft has the St. Louis Rams losing out on A.J. Green and Julio Jones; instead they pick Corey Liuget, DT from Illinois. With the Rams' defensive line aging aside from Chris Long they've definitely got a need for some young talent at the position, however you feel about the excitement-value of a draft pick who Sam Bradford will never throw to on purpose.
Defensive line is a major position of strength in the 2011 NFL Draft, which means the Rams will have a number of choices at end or tackle. Some of the commenters on Turf Show Times raise an interesting point—if it comes to the defensive line on the Rams' draft board it suddenly becomes plausible that they might trade down for a later first round pick, unless they have a name brand they're looking to grab with the 14th pick.
Kiper likes Blaine Gabbert as his number-one overall pick, with Nick Fairley—who's fallen in several other mock drafts since filling the Andrew Luck vacuum early—going second to the Denver Broncos.
