Now I've never personally known James Carville to stir up any controversy for its own sake, but that might be one way of interpreting his comments, at an NFL owners meeting, that the Republican party's presidential candidates are "as weak as the NFC West." Turf Show Times has the full story about what happened next—St. Louis Rams GM Billy Devaney apparently told Carville he could, apparently, stick those comments where the sun don't shine. (Which is Greenland.)
↵Devaney and Carville have made nice since the comments, but the nice-making wasn't fast enough to avoid a random Twitter controversy.
↵On a related note, do you think James Carville has "as weak as" comparisons ready for every single speaking engagement he performs? If he were to perform at the Winter Warm-Up, for instance, he could go with something like "as weak as Mark Mulder's fastball." Then Mark Mulder could stand up, point his left hand out just as far as it goes now, and say, "You can stick it where—oh, whatever."
