2011 NFL Mock Draft: St. Louis Rams Go Defense In New Mock

At Mocking the Draft, SB Nation's NFL Draft-centric superblog, they've got a new 2011 NFL Mock Draft out, and to put you out of your misery right away I'll mention that Julio Jones goes, as ever, to the Washington Redskins at number 10. The St. Louis Rams, instead of eating an entire carton of ice cream and watching the "Casino Night" episode of The Office like I might—I actually might do this no matter how the 2011 NFL Draft goes—take the opportunity to shore up their aging defensive front, grabbing Robert Quinn out of UNC.

Quinn is an especially strange case, declared ineligible for the 2010 season after taking $5642 in benefits from an agent. That would be enough off-the-field intrigue for the average draft pick, but he's also well known for having dealt with a benign brain tumor as a senior in high school in the middle of wrestling season. Quinn was a top-five-type talent before he was suspended, and taking gifts from an agent seems Four Pillars compatible, or at least forgivable, to me.

On the list of possible Rams draft picks who are unlikely to catch passes from Sam Bradford he's rapidly moving up, at least if you believe the mock drafts.
