2011 NFL Mock Draft: Mel Kiper Is Not An Accountant

King of All NFL Mock Draft media Mel Kiper has been called a lot of things, even the King of All NFL Mock Draft Media. He's been praised and blamed for the accuracy of his picks, the strength of his endorsement, the sheer hold of his hairspray. But this is the first time I've ever seen him blamed for his loose spending habits. That's the story on Mocking the Draft, where 2005 third-rounder Channing Crowder told the radio station WQAM that "Mel Kiper... he lied to me, told me I was Top 20, had me go out and spend X amount of dollars and then owe the bank stuff."

I actually agree with the thrust of Crowder's point, which is that one can only take so much from the myriad 2011 NFL Mock Drafts we've been covering here all offseason, but if Mel Kiper is having rookies spend X amount of dollars, possibly (I'm reading between the lines) on hair products, the man simply must be stopped.
