As we've been documenting tirelessly on this 2011 NFL Mock Draft, Corey Liuget has, since late March, recently become the St. Louis Rams' pick-by-default in mock drafts. He'd always been lurking in the background, but in the period of a week-and-a-half he went to St. Louis in the Mocking The Draft mock and, of course, Mel Kiper and Todd McShay's ESPN-sanctioned mock drafts, as well as WalterFootball's most recent draft. It's happened all at once, and though there are still a few holdouts—SB Nation's last was a Julio Jones throwback—but it looks like the Fake Rams love the Illinois DT.
Of course, no player gets tied to one team exclusively at this point unless he's going No. 1 overall. So if you're interested in other suitors for Liuget, I recommend the New York Giants, picking at 19, who've gone the Liuget route in two separate bits of mock draft coverage in the last two weeks.
Giants fans don't seem especially enamored of him, so I can't imagine this being their equivalent of the Julio Jones situation. But there's only room in this de facto Liuget-employer business for one team...
