2011 NFL Mock Draft: Corey Liuget Gets Gerald McCoy Comparisons

Get used to it, St. Louis Rams fans: With Mel Kiper and Todd McShay each choosing him for St. Louis in recent 2011 NFL Mock Draft action, we're doomed to hear about Illinois DT Corey Liuget for the rest of mock draft season. Most recently, TST highlights a recent comparison Liuget got to the third pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, Gerald McCoy. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers might not be especially fond of any comparison that suggests their third-overall future star could be had at 14, and it turns out that most scouts and analysts are equally skeptical.

If Liuget's a top-five talent, after all, what does that make Nick Fairley?

The other option for interpretation is that this unnamed scout is suggesting that Corey Liuget is extremely likely to tear his biceps in December and end up on injured reserve. If you think about it, football scout would be a great job for a clairvoyant looking to maintain a low-key lifestyle, at least until he accidentally predicts out loud that a star prospect is five years from being busted for dog-fighting.
