Joplin, MO Tornado: St. Louis Rams Donate $25,000 To Disaster Relief

The St. Louis Rams announced over the weekend that they'd donate $25,000 to relief efforts by the American Red Cross and Salvation Army following the tornados that devastated Joplin, Missouri earlier this month. According to the official website release the Rams determined, with the help of the aid organizations, that the most pressing need was for immediate cash donations, and acted accordingly.

$25,000 doesn't seem like a lot for a massive organization like the Rams, and one fan has already said as much in the official site's comments section, but I don't doubt that the money is much appreciated by the people who'll be using it and the people they'll be using it to help. The release says more aid is forthcoming once "ongoing need has been determined."

This comes just a month after the Rams, particularly head coach Steve Spagnuolo, donated time and money to aid recovery efforts in St. Louis following the tornados that touched down there in April. This is one story I hope I won't have to write again any time soon.
