Newly minted anti-gun advocate Plaxico Burress has been mostly quiet since being released from prison earlier this month, but that hasn't kept sightings of his shadow from being big news in the middle of the NFL lockout—Burress has been spotted and rumored to have been spotted everywhere from New York (New Jersey) (Jets New Jersey) to Minnesota as he plots a comeback course. Tons of teams have expressed an interest in Burress, or at least not-expressed a not-interest. So why does he keep getting connected to the St. Louis Rams?
↵Was everybody watching those last few games, when Sam Bradford was totally without targets downfield and forced to pass behind the line of scrimmage on every down? Did everybody then stop watching when the Rams drafted two wide receivers and a tight end, expressed an interest in resigning Mark Clayton, and began to plan for Donnie Avery's return to the active roster?
↵That is the only possible explanation I can come up with for the way football writers—with very solid reputations—continue to matchmake Steve Spagnuolo and Plaxico Burress, who go together about as well as Plaxico Burress and handguns.
