At Turf Show Times there's a great video breakdown of Lance Kendricks's strong performance in the St. Louis Rams' preseason debut. Even with two tight ends likely to see regular playing time in Josh McDaniels's new offense the position has been a crowded one—last year's draft picks, Michael Hoomanawanui and Fendi Onobun, both seem like good fits for the system, and although Daniel Fells is gone the rest of the veterans still remain.
↵For all the talk about Josh McDaniels's use of his tight ends on offense, though, VTRamsFan, the video breaker-down in question, loves Kendricks's blocking, showing off a play in which Kendricks manages to hold off a defensive end long enough to let even broken-down Cadillac Williams through a hole. Steven Jackson, who found it difficult to get around the swarm of defenders hanging out at the line of scrimmage—the only place Sam Bradford was allowed to throw—had to be excited about what he saw.
↵And when your blocking is good enough to earn a mention ahead of the touchdown you caught on the same night—well, it's a pretty good week to be Lance Kendricks.
