The St. Louis Rams got some good news ahead of their Monday Night Football contest vs. the New York Giants—the rest of the NFC West was shut out in Week 2, with the Seattle Seahawks' shutout loss topping the results by a score of 24-0 as the Tarvaris Jackson-led offense continues to struggle. The Arizona Cardinals, meanwhile, lost a heartbreaker 22-21 despite Kevin Kolb's strong performance and Larry Fitzgerald's 133-yard performance; the Redskins put 12 points on the board in the fourth quarter to secure their second win of the season. The 49ers fell 27-24 to the Cowboys in overtime, finally, sunk by Tony Romo's unlikely fourth-quarter return to the game despite a rib injury.
That leaves the 49ers and the Cardinals tied atop the NFC West standings at 1-1, which is not especially novel to a fanbase used to some less-than-stellar division races. That leaves the Rams far from out of it if they lose, and in the thick of things if they use their Monday Night platform to show off all the potential we've been promised since Sam Bradford was drafted.
