Rams Coaching Search: St. Louis Has Interest In Todd Bowles, According To Report

As their search for a new head coach continues, the St. Louis Rams are reportedly interested in interviewing Miami Dolphins interim head coach Todd Bowles, according to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Bowles took over the Dolphins with three games left in the season after the team fired Tony Sporano, and he led the team to a 2-1 record, with victories over the Buffalo Bills and the New York Jets.

A cynic's view would be that the Rams are only interested in interviewing Bowles, who is African-American, so that the team can fulfill the NFL's Rooney Rule, which states that any team with a head coaching vacancy must interview a minority candidate. With the Rams and the Dolphins both hot on the trail of Jeff Fisher, that may be true, but Bowles (who also interviewed for the Dolphins head coaching position this week) may just blow the Rams away.
