Rams General Manager Search: Eric DeCosta Of Baltimore Is GM Target For St. Louis

The St. Louis Rams General Manger Search continued Wednesday, as the Rams front office brass asked permission to speak with Baltimore Raven's director of player personnel Eric DeCosta. According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, DeCosta is the second-hand man to Raven's GM Ozzie Newsome and is also being persuaded by the Indianapolis Colts, who fired their GM Bill Polian just a few days ago.

"DeCosta is an original member of the Ravens organization," says Florio. "He served as director of college scouting before becoming director of player personnel in 2009. In DeCosta’s first draft as director of college scouting in 2003, the Ravens picked linebacker Terrell Suggs."

Currently, the Rams hold the No. 2 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft and the search for the right GM is very important in the revival of a franchise that has picked in the top two in the two of the past three seasons.
