Danny Amendola injury: St. Louis Rams receiver practices, but will he return before the bye week?

The St. Louis Rams have Danny Amendola back at practice, but they also have a Week 9 bye. Will he be back by London?

Considering it was a total longshot a day ago, the very prospect of Danny Amendola returning from injury in time for the St. Louis Rams' London visit with the New England Patriots is worth celebrating. He returned to practice on Wednesday on a limited basis, leaving Rams fans with a whole lot to think about going into Week 8, besides which side of the road to drive on. The bad news: With a bye week on the other side of that home-game road-trip, it's hard to see the Rams bringing Amendola back before Week 10.

Of course, it was always hard to imagine that. It's been just three weeks since Amendola suffered the injury, and the immediate prognosis was that he'd miss four to six. But now that we know he's on the field, helmet on, catching passes, it becomes a little more difficult to deal with one more week of Brandon Gibson, Chris Givens, and a cast of thousands in the receiver role.

PPR Fantasy football owners, Sam Bradford, and other interested parties didn't have their hopes up until now, and now they do. That's a trade-off they'll have to weight against the benefit of knowing, now, that Amendola will almost certainly be back in time for the Rams' Week 10 game against the San Francisco 49ers.
