The St. Louis Rams hold a 14-0 lead over the San Francisco 49ers after the opening quarter of play in Sunday's game at Candlestick Park in San Francisco, Calif.
Rams quarterback Sam Bradford completed all four of his pass attempts for 73 yards, including a 36-yard scoring strike to Jonathan Quick to get St. Louis on the board. Running back Steven Jackson, who has rushed eight times for 44 yards, put the Rams up by two scores with a 7-yard touchdown run with less than two minutes remaining in the quarter.
The Rams outgained the 49ers in the first quarter, 149 total yards to 53, and picked up nine first downs to the Niners' four. The St. Louis defense sacked San Francisco quarterback Alex Smith once in the quarter, and held him to just 22 yards passing.
The 49ers currently face a fourth-and-1 at the Rams' 47-yard line early in the second quarter.
