The St. Louis Rams suffered through a 2-14 season, with new head coach Jeff Fisher and the No. 2 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Rams are hoping they can turn things around quickly. The NFL's 2012 free agency period will be instrumental in how the Rams approach the draft and how the structure of their team will look heading into next season. There are plenty of players the organization has to make decisions on during the off-season. Six players qualify has exclusive rights free agents, two more fit under the restricted free-agent umbrella, and the team is tied with the New York Giants for the most unrestricted free agents of any franchise in the NFL with 21.
Wide receiver Brandon Lloyd played well after being traded to the Rams during the season, but he is set to become an unrestricted free agent and has spoken previously about following Josh McDaniels, who is slated to be the offensive coordinator for the New England Patriots in the upcoming year. Outside of Lloyd, others like CB Justin King, QB A.J. Feeley, RB Cadillac Williams and WR Mark Clayton are also unrestricted. The difficult part comes in trying to decipher which players offer valuable depth, and which players may have contributed to an objectively terrible season in 2011-12.
