Rams Free Agency 2012: Josh Morgan, Jason Jones And Cortland Finnegan Would Be Good Fits

The St. Louis Rams are jumping into 2012 NFL free agency with over $30 million in cap space, so where might they look to improve the team prior to the NFL Draft? When the money starts to fly around on Tuesday at 3 p.m. CT, the Rams will be looking to fill plenty of different needs. Brandon Lloyd may be departing to reunite with Josh McDaniels on the New England Patriots, so getting Sam Bradford is certainly a top priority. A leaky defensive secondary and an unbalance defensive line are also problems, so Les Snead and Jeff Fisher will no doubt be looking there as well.

Ryan Van Bibber of SB Nation looked at the top NFL free agents and some potential destinations for each. Three names appeared in connection with the Rams: wide receiver Josh Morgan, defensive end Jason Jones and cornerback Cortland Finnegan. Here is what he had to say about those three players:

Josh Morgan - A Monday report from the NFL Network said teams covet Morgan in free agency as a low-cost, high-upside signing.
Potential destinations: Jacksonville, St. Louis

Jason Jones - Just 26, Jones was quietly one of the best three-technique pass rushers in the game. Then the Titans moved him to the outside in 2011, where his play suffered.
Potential destinations: Philadelphia, St. Louis

Cortland Finnegan - Another corner due for a big pay day, the Rams and new head coach Jeff Fisher will be interested in a reunion after cutting the team's best cornerback, Ron Bartell, on Monday. Finnegan is capable of playing in the slot as well as on the outside.
Potential destinations: St. Louis, Tampa Bay, Dallas
