NFL Free Agency 2012: Guard Travelle Wharton Signs With Bengals

Ex-Carolina Panthers offensive guard Travelle Wharton visited the St. Louis Rams' complex on Thursday and Friday, but on Saturday he decided to ink a deal with the Cincinnati Bengals, according to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Wharton was a starting guard for the Panthers for the previous four years before hitting free agency this offseason, and offensive line is an area where the Rams could due to upgrade. The terms of the contract have yet to be released, but the Bengals have the most cap space in the NFL, so it's likely that they simply offered more money than St. Louis.
