The St. Louis Rams have received a compensatory draft pick for the 2012 NFL Draft per a press release from the NFL. The Rams, who finished the 2011 NFL season with a 2-14 record, received the second-to-last draft pick (Pick No. 45 in Round 7, No. 252 overall) courtesy of their 2011 record.
Other than the Indianapolis Colts, who get the final pick (No. 253 overall), the Rams were the only team to earn a pick based on their record rather than the departure of free agents.
The Rams enter the 2012 NFL Draft with No. 6 overall draft pick, having traded their No. 2 pick to the Washington Redskins at the beginning of March.
