Brandon Lloyd excelled as a member of the St. Louis Rams after being acquired via the the Broncoes after playing four games in Denver. The Rams are always looking to surround young quarterback Sam Bradford with more weapons, so it stands to reason St. Louis would love to keep Lloyd in the fold. But after announcing they would not use the franchise tag on the Illinois Fighting Illini product, St. Louis could have some competition for Lloyd's services.
After all, would you rather play for the lowly Rams or Bill Belichick's high-powered New England Patriots?
As much as the Rams would like to retain Brandon Lloyd -- and negotiations have begun -- the lure of success in New England will likely be too much. Lloyd has said publicly how much he enjoys playing in the system of Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. If Lloyd isn't in a Patriots uniform in 2012, it'd be a surprise. Verdict: Go.
