Peyton Manning Will Avoid NFC Sibling Rivalry, Per Marshall Faulk

Former St. Louis Rams star Marshall Faulk has what is if nothing else the most novel theory of Peyton Manning free agency mania 2k12: He won't go to the NFC, because then he might compete with Eli for a Super Bowl berth. I know a thing or two about what is and isn't the NFC, and I'm relatively sure that would rule out his two NFC West suitors, the Seattle Seahawks and the Arizona Cardinals, and rule in Manning not methodically destroying the Rams quite so frequently.

Marshall is familiar with this, of course, from his days spent competing with his brother, Peyton Faulk.

This is one of those things that we'll simply never know for sure, unless he signs with an NFC team; whether it's true or not, Peyton Manning's agents aren't about to let it slip and cut half his market out of the picture prematurely. (Though I suspect that, if given the chance, they will insinuate it to an NFC team and try to drive his price up. "Peyton really doesn't want to come up against his brother in the NFC championship game—unless you toss in another $5 million. Then he's cool with it." -
