After months of coverage and suspense, the 2012 NFL Draft is less than three weeks away. We've mock drafted, we've run team needs speculation until every franchise seems riddled with holes, and we've dissected the St. Louis Rams' trade with the Washington Redskins like a fetal pig, although I didn't throw up in the middle of it. That's all fine, but sometimes the profusion of coverage and meta-coverage obscures the real point of all of it: We want the Rams to have a successful draft, and we want to know what a successful draft for the Rams looks like.
↵Here it is for me: A successful 2012 NFL Draft for the Rams restores our confidence in Sam Bradford, and it does it justifiably, whether with a top-line wide receiver or a sturdy offensive lineman. From the top of the draft all the way to the back it allows us to think that, with Jeff Fisher and Les Snead, the Rams finally have their braintrust screwed on straight.
↵For all the coverage, it's really impossible to know what the specific picks will be until draft day. But if we can get those two things sorted out, it's going to be great.
