Word on the 2012 NFL Mock Draft rumor mill is that the Philadelphia Eagles could trade up, as far as No. 4, to draft Ryan Tannehill. The SB Nation St. Louis NFL Mock Draft has been... suffice it to say, more than a little skeptical of Tannehill's value, as well as his draft stock, to date, which means that the draft's Other Other quarterback has fallen all the way to their natural position of No. 15. With that, and Mike Vick's proneness to injury, in mind, we have Tannehill's mock-draft-day-dive finally ending here.
Tannehill is not Andrew Luck or Robert Griffin III—he's a project, and the team that drafts him will need a year or so to develop him, on the outside. The Eagles don't want him to play right away—their best-case scenario would be Tannehill not taking snap one in 2012. And if he does, Tannehill's legs are useful enough that the playbook won't need to be rewritten for him.
At No. 15, I like this pick. At No. 4—well, let's hope for their sake that they don't make that mistake.
