The St. Louis Rams have been tied to Oklahoma St. wide receiver Justin Blackmon for most of the draft process, but on the eve of the first round, there's now some doubt seeping in. Respected draft guru Mike Mayock released his first mock draft on Wednesday at NFL.com and Blackmon is pegged to go No. 4 overall to the Cleveland Browns. That leaves the Rams with a nice consolation prize: LSU corner Morris Claiborne.
The Rams are wide open. They can take anybody. They have so many needs. Claiborne has the best ball skills by far of any defensive back in this draft.
Most mocks have had Claiborne going No. 5 to Tampa Bay, but in Mayock's projection, the Buccaneers select Alabama running back Trent Richardson.
