2012 NFL Draft Results: Rams Select Trumaine Johnson In Third Round

With the 65th pick (second in the third round) in the 2012 NFL draft, the St. Louis Rams selected Montana Grizzlies cornerback Trumaine Johnson. Johnson was the No. 12-rated CB prospect in the draft, according to Mocking The Draft's rankings. The 6-foot-2, 204-pound DB has great size for the position, and his scouting report on Mocking The Draft says he has the quickness to cover NFL receivers, but is still raw in press coverage and needs to play with better instincts on short routes.

Johnson is the latest addition to a totally revamped Rams secondary. He'll join free agent signee Cortland Finnegan and fellow draftee Janoris Jenkins. Johnson will have to adjust to severe the step up in quality from the Big Sky to the NFL, but he has the body to turn into a dominating, physical corner.
