With Jeff Fisher looking to bring an edge of physicality and nastiness to the St. Louis Rams franchise, one area that needed to be addressed was the porous offensive line. After signing Scott Wells to play center in the offseason, guard remained the one spot on the line that still needed some tinkering. Although they waited until the 5th round, the Rams finally took a potential guard of the future with the selection of Rokevious Watkins.
Watkins, who played at South Carolina, was a 2nd team All-SEC selection last year. Watkins is a huge physical specimen, measuring in at 6'4 and weighing 340 pounds. Watkins was an anchor for South Carolina on the offensive line, starting 27 consecutive games. Watkins played both guard spots, as well as some right tackle during his time on campus, but will play guard for the Rams.
