Danario Alexander Injury: Receiver Misses St. Louis Rams OTA With Hamstring Trouble

Danario Alexander injury problems are nothing new, but at least he's missing the St. Louis Rams' OTA (or minicamp) with a new injury: The Rams' would-be star receiver, who's caught 46 balls for 737 yards and three touchdowns in 18 games (six starts) over two years, has unidentified hamstring problems. Alexander's go-to injury—the one that left him undrafted instead of a surefire first-rounder in the first place—is his left knee, on which he's had multiple arcane surgeries, and on which he often seems unable to run for more than one game in a row.

This is a make-or-break year for Alexander, who, despite putting up the best numbers on the team when healthy, finds himself competing against Brandon Gibson, Greg Salas, Austin Pettis, and the rest of the field for the last three spots in the Rams' new wide receiving corps. With Brian Quick and Chris Givens sure to get multiple chances, and Danny Amendola healthy and commandeering the bulk of the Rams' targets early, things don't look good for his chances.
